Rare rural turned wooden case, a popular artisanal craft from the late 19th to early 20th century (circa 1880-1910), possibly intended to protect the nozzle of a beekeeper's smoker during transport or storage, or for storing other types of tools. Cylindrical body with turned edges, conical lid with a hole. The lid is slightly darker. 25cm maximum height, 19cm without the lid, 9.5cm diameter. Very good condition, patina from use, sound wood, even wear, clean, unvarnished interior. The lid is a little stiff to open/close. An antique agricultural or utilitarian object, ideal for a collection or rustic decor. Approximately 300-500g.
