Georges Laujoil De La Fage (french 1830 - 1858) Idyllic Landscape With Fishermen On The River
Artist: Georges Laujoil De La Fage
The idyllic French river landscape with fishermen was painted in 1855 by the talented French landscape painter Georges Laujol de La Fage (1830, Saint-Denis Chapel – 1858, Paris). This artist, who can be considered alongside Corot and Daubigny, unfortunately died very young and left behind only a large number of works. Hence, our river landscape—one of the rare examples that has survived to reach modern art connoisseurs, especially since it is painted in the same style as the landscapes of his contemporaries Corot and Daubigny. The artist studied under N. Diaz de la Pena and exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1853 to 1857, receiving an honorable mention in 1857. Our work is illustrated in the artist's article on the online Wikipedia (in English).
