This floral painting of potted asters was created by Louis-Victor Gesta (1828 - Toulouse - 1894), a listed French still life painter and glassmaker, founder of the Gesta stained glass factory, which, according to its founder, decorated between 7,000 and 8,500 churches. His residence, exhibition space and factory still exist, partly at the Château des Verrières in Toulouse.
