A romantic genre scene with a couple in a landscape created by the well-listed German painter Gustav Eggena, born in 1850 in Marburg. He studied at the Kassel Academy, since 1872 - at the Munich Academy by W.Diez and after his studies worked in Munich. He was very popular with his 17th and 18th century hunting and military scenes, portraits and landscapes. His works are located at the King Gallery in Kassel and the Kunsthalle in Mannheim.
