"Unexpected Guest" by Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville (French, 1852-1941). This beautiful genre painting, featuring three kittens and a bee drinking milk, was executed by the renowned French painter of animals and still lifes, Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville (1852 - Paris - 1941). In Paris he began exhibiting in 1879. He became a member of the Société des Artistes Français in 1907. His works are held in the collections of Louviers, Béziers, Brest, and Château-Thierry.
