Artist: Jean D'esparbès
Jean d'Esparbès (1899-1968), painter and poet. Son of the writer Georges d'Esparbes who was also curator of Fontainebleau Castle from 1904 to 1930, where he spent his childhood. Training at the School of Decorative Arts. Salon des Independants in 1920 (a posthumous exhibition is dedicated to him in 1972) and Salon d'Automne in 1924 and 1928, retrospective at the Museum of Montmartre in 1988. Meet Renoir, Bonnard and Derain, Modigliani and Pascin in Montparnasse from the two wars. Linked to Francis Carci, Roland Dorgelés, Gen Paul, Frank Will, LF Céline, Marcel Aymé, ... Dimensions: 69 x 84 cm at sight. Unsigned, framed. Slight trace of moisture on the chess board on the right.
