This masterful miniature portrait of a young woman was created by the French miniaturist Rosalie Renaudin, active in Paris in the first half of the 19th century.
It is executed in the style of the "aerial portrait" invented by J.-B. Isabey.
Rosalie Renaudin was a student of Anne-Louise Girodet de Roucy Trioson. She was first mentioned in 1805. She exhibited her flower paintings at the Salons of 1819 and 1824, winning a medal in 1824. At that time, she resided at 12, rue de Castiglione in Paris. From 1836 to 1840, she was mentioned as a "miniature painter", rue de la Paix, n° 4 (Paris).
