Femme Fatale By Serge Ivanoff (russian, 1893 Moscow - 1983 Paris)
Portrait of a Beautiful Young Woman was created in Paris in the 1940s by the Russian émigré painter Sergey Petrovich Ivanov (in French: Serge Ivanoff, December 25, 1893 Moscow – February 8, 1983 Paris).
He was born into a merchant family and was interested in art from a young age. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting and Sculpture (1900–1917) and at the Academy of Medicine, where he studied anatomy. After his parents moved to Saint Petersburg in 1917, he began studying painting at the Imperial Academy of Arts. In 1920, his wife and two children moved to Paris, and two years later, after they graduated, Sergey Ivanov followed them.

A talented portraitist, he painted portraits of many famous people, including Pope Pius XI, Serge Lifar, Yvette Chauviré, Honegger, Edwige Fëjer, Grand Duke Vladimir Kirillovich Romanov, Alexandre Benois, Zinaida Serebryakova, Vyacheslav Ivanov, Valerie Fields, Jacques Veil, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Jefferson Kèfri. He also created illustrations for the famous Parisian magazine "Illustration" (1930-1950). During these years, he traveled to Brazil and Argentina. In 1950, Ivanov moved to the United States. For over ten years, he traveled throughout the Americas, fulfilling numerous commissions. In the second half of the 1960s, he returned to France, where he became a member of the Salon Indépendants. In 1966, the French Minister of Culture, André Malraux, awarded him the Gold Medal.
His works are held in museums in France, the Vatican, and the USA. Ivanov's portraits and nude paintings achieve good results (up to €60,000) at international auctions in Russia, France, England, and the USA.
