Artist: Czeslaw Ignacy Wasilewski - Zygmuntowicz
This village scene with a sleigh ride was painted by the renowned Polish artist Czeslaw Wasilewski, also known as Ignacy Žygmantowicz (born in 1875 in Warsaw, died in 1947 in Łódź).
He was self-taught and enrolled at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts in 1911, though there is no evidence that he actually studied there. In 1917, he was likely a student of Wojciech Kossak. He participated in several national exhibitions in Lublin, Czêstochowa, Gdynia, and Poznań. He exhibited on several occasions with the Zachêta Arts Gallery in Warsaw.
