Each piece is adorned with a hand-painted medallion depicting: Napoleon I in imperial uniform; Josephine de Beauharnais, Empress; Marie-Louise of Austria, the Emperor's second wife; and various female portraits of imperial inspiration. The decoration, of remarkable refinement, blends meticulously executed portraits, gilded foliage, and gold-accented outlines. The tray features a central portrait of Napoleon, perfectly highlighted by the green hue and the Empire-inspired motifs.
