Pair of very large trumeau mirrors / neoclassical – 19th century. Important pair of richly decorated neoclassical trumeau mirrors, mid-19th century in the Louis XVI style. The carved and molded wooden frames are enhanced with cream polychromy and gilding, with abundant decoration of scrolls, rosettes, acanthus leaves, and shells on the arched pediments. Each mirror is framed by uprights adorned with carved relief motifs, giving the whole a beautiful verticality. The baseboards are covered with plain tapestry in keeping with the colors of the whole. Dimensions (per mirror): Height 234 cm, Width 126 cm, Depth 11 cm. Condition: Good structural condition. Visible wear to the paint/gilding (normal). Old backings/visible restorations.
