It rests on a base forming a blank silver-gilt matrix. The soldier is standing, his left hand resting on an axe placed on the ground, his right hand on his hip. He carries a sword at his side and looks straight ahead, the visor of his helmet raised. The helmet is surmounted by a large plume of feathers.
Some pieces of the armor, particularly at the joints, are silver-gilt, as are the feathers.
A loop on his back allows him to wear it as a pendant or to attach it to a chatelaine.
The seal is hallmarked with a boar's head on the fixed ring.
A magnificent little object, extremely detailed with a fine, purposeful pose of the knight depicted. It fits perfectly within the historicist style of the Troubadour movement, very popular during the second half of the 19th century.
