"Louis XV Bergère Chair, Anis Velvet, Beechwood, 18th Century"
An elegant and comfortable Louis XV bergère armchair, dating from the 18th century. Our bergère rests on four gracefully sculpted cabriole legs adorned with moldings and scrolls. The violin-shaped back extends into gently rounded armrests, ensuring a comfortable and enveloping seat. This bergère features a thick down-filled cushion for added comfort. The woodwork is in very good condition. The refinement of this armchair lies in the simplicity of the carvings, devoid of the flowery motifs more commonly seen on this type of chair. Only the curves, enhanced by flowing moldings, give this bergère its unique charm. The upholstery is anise green velvet and in good condition. However, the velvet is slightly shiny in several places due to wear from use (see photos). Note: small traces of upholstery tacks on the back fabric of the seat, without impact. Superb patina.
