The drawing is double-sided, pen on laid paper, with a partially visible watermark. It comes from the Ferault collection (reference Lugt 2793A). The lozenge-shaped stamp is on the back, lower right. An earlier attribution to Prud'hon can be seen on the back of the mount. It is a beautifully executed drawing.
