The work is signed by the painter Daniel Alexis Bourrit (born in 1803), an artist native to Nantua (Ain), to whom the Bénézit dictionary dedicates a chapter: although his date of death is unknown, it is known that he was a student at the School of Fine Arts in Lyon... he began exhibiting in that city from 1826 until 1851.
