"Daniel Bourrit (born In 1803) - Grand Portrait - Louis Philippe Period - Woman With A Golden Lock"
Large and beautiful painting dated 1838 depicting the portrait of a young woman from high society during the reign of Louis Philippe... The work is signed by the painter Daniel Alexis Bourrit (born in 1803), an artist native to Nantua (Ain), to whom the Bénézit dictionary dedicates a chapter: although his date of death is unknown, it is known that he was a student at the School of Fine Arts in Lyon... he began exhibiting in that city from 1826 until 1851. Values and auction results: his works are rather rare on the market, with fewer than ten paintings appearing at auction in recent years: his record of 5700 euros was achieved in 2014 for a canvas of the same size entitled "Woman with a Parrot," which surpassed his previous record of 1300 euros set in 2001 for a canvas entitled "The Big Sister" / See last photos.
