"Djenne Mali Terracotta Statue"
Very interesting Djenne style terracotta from Mali, complete in fairly good condition, despite wear, cracks and splits, restorations are to be noted, in particular the right leg which is glued back together. A character, probably a hogon, is seated looking towards the sky, he is richly adorned with a bracelet. Beautiful patina from pink to black, these objects are often collected by the inhabitants then resold, this one was bought in Mali in the 70s by an expatriate. Total height 20 cm
