Extremely rare and elegant pair of Louis XVI period travel candlesticks in solid silver by the famous master goldsmith Jean-Baptiste Saurin (master 1774). They are of very high quality and beautifully engraved with neoclassical motifs on the foot. They can be dismantled into three parts which allowed them to be taken with you in a small travel kit. Each removable part of each candlestick is hallmarked with the Paris hallmarks for the year 1780 and the master goldsmith's hallmark. The sconces have an ingenious removable bottom system to be able to expel the remaining candles. Weight grams for the pair.
