"Pair Of Chambord Vases With Swans In Silver, Revolutionary Period, 18th Century "
Pair of small "Chambord" style vases with swan handles in solid silver, late 18th century. One of them bears the hallmark of a boar surmounted by a 1, which was used during the revolutionary period following the abolition of guilds in 1791. Faced with this situation, the "association of silversmiths" created several hallmarks, including this one. One of our vases bears the hallmark of the goldsmith Denis Colombier in Paris, dating from 1797. Our vases were subsequently re-hallmarked; one now bears a hallmark with the first Parisian rooster, and the other a provincial rooster accompanied by an old man's head in a medallion and the Parisian old man hallmark, used from 1819 to 1838, as well as an unidentified goldsmith's hallmark. Weight: 269 grams.
Our vases are of exceptional quality, both in their chiseling and their lines.
Good condition, minor scratches from use.
