A silver oille pot resting on a circular foot, the body with a cyma molding and two rocaille-shaped handles, the lid surmounted by a beautiful, finely chased finial in the shape of a scallop shell, complete with its lining and two finials. Paris, 1778-1779 (letter P) for the lid, 1781-1782 (letter S) for the body, and 1782 (letter T) for the lining. Master goldsmith Joseph Pierre Jacques Duguay, admitted on May 29, 1756. Son of the goldsmith Jacques Duguay. He was a warden in 1769 and 1770. All pieces are hallmarked with the goldsmith's mark. Weight 2542g - height 27cm - diameter 25cm. Condition: very good, a rare and high-quality piece of silverware.
