Magnificent ciborium in solid silver gilt or vermeil, set with three sumptuous enamel medallions dating from the second half of the nineteenth century.
It is in excellent condition. It weighs 500 grams.
The base contains three enamelled cartouches representing Saint Philomena (with anchor), Saint Helena of Constantinople, mother of Emperor Constantine I, who discovered the remains of the true Cross, and finally the Blessed Virgin accompanied by the Infant Jesus and Saint John the Baptist. These three medallions are also allegories for hope, faith and love, as mentioned in St. Paul's letter to the Corinthians.
