"Antwerp 1814-1831, Solid Silver, Large Stoup"
Very large solid silver apartment holy water font dating from the period 1814-1831 and hallmarked with the guarantee for solid silver from the Antwerp guarantee office. The holy water font is very large and is designed around a large circular plaque entirely embossed by hand. It represents three scenes that symbolize hope (an anchor), faith (a cross) and love (a burning heart) as mentioned in the chapter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians. The high quality of execution is part of the very long Antwerp tradition of paintings embossed in a silver plaque. It weighs almost 400 grams.
