Beautiful pewter "helmet" EWER with S-shaped groove, with a moving pedestal with a frieze of gadroons and a knot, fitted with a handle with long gadroons, draped and volute crook. The middle part of the body is decorated with a molded rod.
Unpublished hallmark attributed to Philippe II DOLLFUS received master in 1718: angel with palm / PD
Height: 25 cm

Clearly hallmarked and in very good condition, with well executed consolidation of the handle attachments and minor pitting noted on the body
Alsace produced very little of this type of object and I have not encountered any other from this center.
