"Large Pewter Dish "à La Cardinal" - Lyon, Second Quarter Of The 17th Century"

Large ROUND DISH in pewter with a wide plain edge and a wide peripheral molding, called "à la cardinal". Engraved in the center with a coat of arms with a plumed helmet: with three stars at the top and a chevron accompanied by three roses at the bottom Hallmarking:
1° - hallmark of Claude 1st MORANT received master before 1636 : Moor's head left profile / CLAVDE MORANT / FIN.
2° - PEWTER / A / LANTI / MOI / NE / cherubs facing each other.
Diameter: 49 cm.
LYON, Second quarter of the 17th century


Excavated piece showing cracks, scratches, specks, oxidation and calcareous concretions, which was probably exhumed around 1960 during work on the site of the Hôtel-Dieu de Lyon
