Carrier pewter dinner pot with a short foot, concave neck, and vertical throat, featuring a domed lid with a side handle. It is fitted with a swinging handle with rosette-shaped fasteners.
Height to the rim: 12 cm.

In very good condition
This object was used by shepherds, farmhands, day laborers, etc.
Several sizes existed, ranging from 4 to 6 depending on the production center.

The shapes of these lunch pots vary: they are truncated cones in Burgundy, pear-shaped in Île-de-France, flared in Anjou…; the handle mounts, depending on the region, feature cherub heads, rosettes, fleurons, human masks, etc.
