Pewer in pewter known as "in Mars helmet" with oblique throat and pinched spout, knotted pedestal and octagonal base, fitted with a stepped handle and draped crook. It is decorated with two friezes of gadroons and at the base of a series of alternating tongues and lambrequins.
Hallmark of Pierre II SARRADE received master in 1684: crowned rooster / PSR
Height: 28 cm.
BORDEAUX, End of the 17th century or very beginning of the 18th century

External pitting and internal calcareous concretions
Bibliography: "Pewters and master tin potters - Bordeaux, 1600-1900" by Ph. Boucaud
This beautiful model was abundantly and faithfully copied in the 20th century and bears "fancy" hallmarks that do not comply with the regulations of the time.
