Of very great rarity, of good quality, in very good condition and well hallmarked, a small crack is noted at the junction of the tab and the lid, without any impact on the solidity of the object. This is the first piece of this provenance encountered in almost 50 years...
Generally speaking, the center of gravity of pewter production in Europe is distributed as follows: In the center, the regions of great production: Switzerland, Alsace, southern Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands In a first concentric circle, the countries of lesser production: the south of France, Italy, Denmark... In a second circle, the countries of low or almost non-existent production: Spain, southern Italy, Russia, the north of the Nordic countries and Great Britain... and a great paradox: Spain, which supplied the whole of Europe with ore for several years, has only offered us a few very rare examples of pewter objects!
