Pewter ewer with a flared shape and horizontal groove, richly molded spout with a ribboned rim, stepped circular foot, and C-shaped handle with a draped crook.
Hallmark of Claude Antoine DURAND, received as a master in 1723: large crowned fleur-de-lis / C.A.D.
Height: 23.7 cm.
NANCY, Second third of the 18th century.
In very good condition; however, a discreet reinforcement of the lower attachment of the handle and spout, as well as an area of impact marks under the foot, are indicated by colored arrows.
Bibliography: "Etains de Lorraine" by Bertrand Bergbauer, which reproduces this hallmark applied to an ewer of the same type
