Apple-shaped pewter dinner tray with a swinging handle featuring rosette-shaped fasteners, equipped with a stepped lid and a central mushroom-shaped knob.

In used condition with moderate patina
This object was used by shepherds and farm workers, day laborers, etc.
Several sizes existed, ranging from 4 to 6 depending on the production center.
The shapes of these lunch boxes vary: they are truncated cones in Burgundy, pear-shaped in the Île-de-France region, flared in Anjou…; the handle attachments, depending on the region, feature cherub heads, rosettes, fleurons, human masks, etc.
