Afghan rug with geometric decoration of stylized flowers circa 1960-1970, in very good condition, in bright and fresh colors.
This rug measures 100 cm wide by 175 cm long.
Decorated with a scattering of stylized flowers, predominantly red, straw yellow, plum, black on an ivory background.
Afghan handcrafted products are always of very good quality.
In other regions, nomadic rugs are often loosely knotted and have long pile.
Unlike Afghan or Turkmen rugs which have dense and tight fabrications thanks to the Persian knot and velvet lines and goat or sheep hair, soft and shiny.
The use of goat hair is most common for the warp and weft.
