Kashan rug in kork wool hand-knotted in Iran around 1980.
It measures 146 cm wide by 192 cm long.
This beautiful model with a niche and bouquets of flowers has a highly ornate decoration.
A pretty landscape in the center in a polylobed medallion presents swans swimming in front of a palace;
Numerous trees of life, bouquets of fine and delicate flowers, birds, enhance the decoration and also embellish the border.
The whole is perfect in its composition and the greatest care has been taken with the very beautiful border.
These rugs are intended for decoration on the floor, but also wall, in Iranian houses, giving a vision of happiness, joy and an idea of paradise on earth.
## The general condition is perfect, there is no reduction of pile, the fine kork wool used is of first quality, selvedges and fringes very good. The colors are fresh, soft and delicate.
The deep shades, wine lees, blue, green, orange, red ...... blend perfectly with ivory.

At the time of the Persian Renaissance, Kashan was the center of carpet production of legendary splendor.
Carpets with fine weaving, of a very rich composition, were knotted by the royal factory of Shah Abbas.
They became the centerpieces of museums and private collections.
The craft industry was interrupted in Kashan between the invasion of the Afghans (1722) and the end of the 19th century. The revival of Carpet production began with carpets distinguished by the superior quality of the wool giving an extremely velvety appearance.
These examples are called Kashan Motashemi, named after the most famous master weaver of the late 19th century. The decorations are varied and offer meticulous craftsmanship: hunting scenes, subjects with figures inspired by Persian mythology, birds in a plant setting, trees of life. Thanks to the superior quality of the wool, their tight knotting, the beauty of their natural colors and their designs, the Kashan took their place among the best Persian carpets.
