Beautiful 18th century plate, in polychrome earthenware from La Rochelle, with a scalloped border and a pretty full "hedge" decoration with a bird perched on a branch of twigs, below a basket containing vine shoots, grapes and flowering stems. Rocks and terraces complete the decoration. Our plate is similar to model number 56 on page 52 of the catalog of the exhibition at the Orbigny Bernon museum in La Rochelle in 1988.
