A rare matched pair of hollow cast bronze anklets, each measuring 13.8 cm in diameter. Each is constructed with a long open slot along the side and contains a loose pellet that produces a distinctive rattle when shaken. The terminals are decorated with spiral-scroll motifs and raised bosses, a hallmark of Ban Chiang and wider Đông Sơn cultural production of northeast Thailand and northern Vietnam during the Late Period (c. 300 BCE–400 CE).
Parallels can be found in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, including the Hollow Anklet with Pellets and Decorated Ends (accession no. 1987.142.146), which shows the same split-slot construction, rattling interior, and decorated finials. Such anklets served both as personal adornments and as resonant ritual objects. The survival of a matched pair in excellent condition is especially uncommon.
