Beautiful portrait of a woman wearing a lace headdress and holding a letter in her hands on which we can distinguish the words "My Dear Mother"... Anonymous work from the very beginning of the 19th century. This beautiful painting has been relined and is presented in an old key frame in stucco and gilded wood. The whole is in good house condition. A very fine scratch on the nose (see detail photo) is to be noted but does not in any way detract from the aesthetics of the whole. Great finesse has been brought to the details of the clothing, jewelry etc...
