Very beautiful pen, black ink and gray wash, signed by Pierre OZANNE (1737-1813) representing a lively landscape with a tower in the foreground and an imaginary fortified city with ramparts and a port in the background. Younger brother of Nicolas Marie OZANNE (1728-1811), he was his student and succeeded him as marine designer. Renowned for these landscapes and his seascapes as well, he delivers here a very beautiful work on paper with subtle contrasts and finely executed. This drawing is harmoniously framed in a frame with a beautiful patina of dimensions: 30 x 39 cm.
