"Late 18th Century Drawing: Landscape Of Ruins "
Landscapes of ruins have inspired artists since the Renaissance. The Grand Tour is an opportunity to encounter these monuments, witnesses of ancient civilization. The end of the 18th century saw a particular development of the taste for these subjects. This delicate ink drawing, unfortunately anonymous, follows this trend, by describing this landscape. It is mounted, glued on an old passe-partout with a perfectly adapted ruler and watercolor. Some pinholes, otherwise good condition.
