""already Back" Watercolor From The Late 19th Century "
A young maid, dressed in a light petticoat dress, and wearing a bonnet illustrating her function, a book in hand, is certainly observing the arrival of her mistress's carriage in the courtyard, her smile tells us that there is also someone she likes arriving. She had let herself go to read in an armchair but other activities await her. This unfinished watercolor, but charming in its state, speaks to us of a gentle way of life, that of the old regime. These are very fashionable subjects at the end of the 19th century. Very discreetly framed with a fine marquetry rod, it is in excellent condition.
