Rocaille Planter In Solid 800 Silver, Germany – Bruckmann & Söhne, Late 19th Century
Rocaille planter in solid 800 silver, Germany – Bruckmann & Söhne, late 19th century Small oval planter in solid 800/1000 silver, elegantly decorated in a historicist Rocaille style, resting on four arched legs adorned with volutes and stylized acanthus. The body is gadrooned and enhanced with lateral Rococo cartouches, one left blank for possible personalization. The upper edge has a delicate undulating movement with ribboned moldings. It comes with its removable inner tray in silver-plated brass, perfectly suited to floral use without altering the silver setting. This tray retains a natural patina, intentionally preserved to emphasize its authenticity. The visible hallmarks include the 800 thousandths fineness, typical of silver of the German Silbertandardsnorme, as well as the hallmark of the house Bruckmann & Söhne, active from 1805 until the middle of the 20th century in Heilbronn, as confirmed by historical references and comparisons with other objects mentioned in the Bruckmann & Söhne databases. ✍️ Characteristics: Period: late 19th century (circa 1880–1900) Origin: Germany – Heilbronn Goldsmith: Bruckmann & Söhne Title: 800/1000 solid silver Material: solid silver body, silver-plated brass inner tray Dimensions: Total length with handles: 37 cm Maximum width: 20 cm Maximum height: 14 cm Weight of silver setting: 750 g Total weight with inner tray: 1,195 g Decoration: historicist Rocaille style: gadroons, cartouches, volutes, acanthus Condition: excellent, interior patina preserved
