Large zoomorphic tripod coffee pot with swan neck – Solid silver – Ghent, 1789 – Goldsmith Dupré Important tripod coffee pot in solid silver from the city of Ghent, made in 1789 by the master goldsmith Dupré, renowned for the quality and elegance of his pieces. The baluster body is enlivened by a sober and balanced decoration, resting on three richly worked feet. The spout takes the form of a finely chiseled swan head and neck, typical of the ornamental vocabulary of the late 18th century. Well-marked piece, testifying to its Ghent origin and its execution by Dupré. A work of beautiful size and great visual effect, testifying to the refinement of Belgian goldsmithing of this period.
