A two-handled cup, known as a wedding cup, made of silver, resting on a molded pedestal with egg-and-dart motifs. The crosier-shaped handles are set within a heart. Beaune, 1773. Master goldsmith, widow François Goudier. François Goudier (1732-1773) was a master goldsmith in Beaune from 1761 until his death on July 29, 1773. On January 10, 1773, he was appointed "Grand Guard of the Goldsmiths' Bodyguard." His widow succeeded him in Beaune from 1773 to 1775, the year of her remarriage to another goldsmith, Denis Rougeot.
