Extremely rare silver tastevin with a navel
Hallmarks of the City of FOUGERES (Rennes Jurisdiction) 1781 by MILLE Jean Baptiste
It rests on a plain base bearing the surname “LAFON”
Diameter 9.8 cm
Weight 70.5 cm
To my knowledge, this is the only known example of this typically Bordeaux model; it was a commission placed with a Breton silversmith.
In 25 years of business, this is the first tastevin of this type I have seen bearing Breton hallmarks.
