This rare and refined 19th-century set is a magnificent example of French neoclassical design, with an exceptional technical and aesthetic peculiarity: the clock movement is embedded in a glass sphere, creating a fascinating visual effect where time literally seems to float.
The central clock rests on a green-veined marble base, richly adorned with gilt-bronze garlands and a classical frame. Three graceful putti (winged cherubs) carry the glass sphere containing the movement. The dial is adorned with elegant black Arabic numerals and slender hands.
A remarkable detail: on the back of the glass sphere, one can observe the delicate clockwork mechanism, whose regular ticking makes the passage of time almost poetic. This makes this piece not only an aesthetic object, but also a technical masterpiece.
