Clock By Richond In Paris From The Late 19th Century

Important mantel clock on its terrace in chiseled and gilded bronze, Louis XV style, from the late 19th century. The case decorated with a music trophy, the bezel surmounted by a putti sitting on a cloud, brandishing a torch and holding branches of roses. Decorated with foliage scrolls, acanthus volutes and cartouches. The enameled dial with Arabic and Roman numerals indicating the hours and minutes. The movement signed RICHOND in Paris. Splendid period mercury gilding, barely dusty. A proper cleaning will restore it to perfect splendor if desired. This clock has most likely been under a glass dome most of the time since its manufacture and has escaped the wear of time and untimely cleaning. For your information, re-gilding such an object today would cost around 5000 euros...!!! ·
