This truly massive clock rests on a gilded base; the bronze is finely chiseled—a work of exceptional quality!
The white enamel dial is signed “Planchon à Paris” for Mathieu Planchon (1842–1921).
Planchon established himself in Paris, at the Palais-Royal, in the 1870s ; he also worked with Jean E. Robert-Houdin, a famous clockmaker and manufacturer of automatons.
The clock is in its original condition; the movement needs to be cleaned by a clockmaker.
