Lavrov was born in Siberia in 1895.
He first produced his works in Siberia and later in Moscow.
In 1921 , he was sent to France, where he created numerous Art Deco animal sculptures.
Lavrov’s sculptures, cast in bronze and ceramic by various foundries, established his reputation in the West.
Upon his return to Moscow in 1935, Georgij Lavrov became an official artist and created monumental sculptures and busts of Soviet leaders.
Lavrov died on August 29, 1991.

The clock is missing a hand and the tip of the silver-plated pendulum; the mechanism needs to be cleaned by a watchmaker (in untouched condition ).
