The salt cellars rest on four feet formed from mistletoe branches. The leaves bloom on the oval, swollen bodies of the mounts holding the glasses.
The interiors are silver-gilt.
The decoration of the three salt cellars is identical, but one of them features a variation with an open base. The glass on this one is slightly raised.
Three original salt scoops accompany the salt cellars; the multi-lobed spatulas are decorated with a mistletoe branch.
Each piece, except for one scoop, is hallmarked:
. Minerva hallmark, 1st grade for 950/°° solid silver from before 1973.
Silversmith's mark: CM with a flower for Charles Murat, active from 1897 to 1910.
The unmarked shovel has been tested with a touchstone.
This silversmith is renowned for his mistletoe decoration, which can be found on cases, pyrogens, knives, etc., characteristic of the Art Nouveau period. These salt cellars are part of this production and are a magnificent, highly decorative example.
