Large Kutani porcelain vase, Japan, circa 1890. Polychrome famille verte glazed decoration with rich gilt highlights in moriage (embossed glaze) technique. The main scene shows women and children beneath cherry blossoms, accompanied by peacocks and iron-red and gold ornamental panels. Carved lion-dog side handles, underscoring the vase's artistic quality. Marked “Kutani sei” (九谷製) under the base, a characteristic mark of late Meiji export production. The original, solid, probably walnut, stand is included. This piece is remarkable for its vivid palette, fine moriage, and its rare preservation with the period stand. It presents a high collectible standard, worthy of a museum or a discerning connoisseur of Japanese porcelain. Condition: Excellent antique condition. Minimal wear to the upper and lower rim.
