Large wrought pewter PLATTER with a wide wing called "à la cardinal" engraved on the wing with an armorial motif: shield with a crowned lion rampant to the sinister and a chevron accompanied by three crosses placed two and one to the dexter, all topped with a plumed helmet.
Diameter: 40.2 cm
LYON (?), second half of the 17th century

Good condition, showing very beautiful hammering facets on the reverse.
This technique was intended to bring the molecules of the metal closer together to increase its rigidity.
