Pair of ceramic plates made by Alessio Tasca (Nove, 1929–2020) in the 1950s, decorated using the sgraffito technique on colored glaze.
The subjects are inspired by famous Venetian paintings:
Diana and Actaeon, after Giambattista Pittoni
Venus and Adonis, after Paolo Veronese
The designs are created by incising the reddish glaze while still fresh, revealing the lighter background underneath and producing a refined graphic effect. Both plates are signed on the front and inscribed on the reverse with the title and painter of reference.
