Opaline soap-coloured travel perfume bottle with an octagonal cross-section and flattened sides, decorated with painted enamel depicting cascades of polychrome flowers and highlighted with gilding, featuring a sloping tubular neck with a hinged, fold-down stopper in gilded, fluted brass (or bronze).

The popularity of portable toiletries and beauty items during the Restoration period led to a remarkable development in artistic glassware and fine opaline, prized for its milky hues and exquisitely delicate hand-painted floral designs.

Our perfume bottle, which is part of the output of the famous Parisian opaline workshops of the early 19th century, bears witness to the refinement of the art of travel and toiletries during the reign of Charles X.
