Robert Savary (1920-2000) was awarded the Prix de Rome (ex-aequo) in 1950. He was the official painter of the Navy in 1987. He exhibited, among others, at the Salon des Indépendants, the Salon des Tuileries and the Salon d'Automne in the 1940s and 1950s. Many national and international museums own his works.
